i am a bad blogger and wish i had more time and stuff...
... sorry ! This is a watercolor, dip-pen (and sharpie background) for a show in my village's gallery called "women on the verge of a nervous breakdown", in french. taken from a photo
I love these. I've always felt tremendous guilt over drawing from and referencing photographs (a friend used to tell me it wasn't 'real' art!) But you have lifted me up.
wah comment tu assures à l'aquarelle, c'est dément ! la matière que tu arrives à creer là ça fait penser à la technique de Liberatore.. Hyper balèze, jsuis sur le cul !
This is great! I was part of an art group once called 'Women on The Verge' we didn't specify what the verge was but a break down would have a good title. I really enjoy your characters Sophie, you have the knack of capturing expressions perfectly. About a book of my work, I have been trying but it is hard to get my foot in the door if you know what I mean. xx
Another arresting image! Your work is instantly recognisable and fresh. You also help men to understand women on some level. Best wishes from Tony in Liverpool UK. :-)
Hi Sophie, I just found your blog and it's so great to see your drawings. i am teaching college kids drawing and keep trying to tell them how awesome and important it is to keep a regular sketchbook, but I don't think they ever really believe me... I will make a point to show them this blog and see if that helps. :)
Your drawings have such a great not perfect/perfect sense to them!
I have an art blog, too, if you want to have a look.
I love these.
